Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk, 24, has taken a big step to clear his name in a doping case. Shakhtar Donetsk’s CEO, Sergei Palkin, shared on April 22, 2025, that the Ukrainian winger passed a lie detector test to prove he didn’t knowingly take a banned substance.
Mudryk has been suspended since November 2024 after testing positive for Meldonium, a banned drug, while playing for Ukraine. He hasn’t played for Chelsea since scoring in a 2-0 win over Heidenheim in the Europa Conference League on November 28. The young star insists he never used the substance on purpose, and his team is working hard to prove his innocence.
Palkin, who has been talking with Mudryk regularly, said the lie detector test shows the player is telling the truth. They are now waiting for the results of Mudryk’s ‘B’ sample, which will decide his next steps .
